‘Makes enough sense right?’ "you don't have to look like the girls in the magazines to be beautiful! it is a misconception that those looks will bring upon the happiness you desire" beauty is in confidence, personality... it's in the eyes, in the touch, in the words you speak.. it's everything you or anyone else is... the problem is, that even though this is true, and even if someone knows it's true, we all have our own perceptions of beauty and some more rudely opinionated...
it's hard to feel good about yourself or feel beautiful when it's not shown to you, it's hard when guys don't talk to you, it's hard when you see a female friend or a sister have so many guys go after her and she had to do nothing to get the attention, and still no one notices you, or just when you start to think that you just might ACTUALLY be beautiful, something happens that crushes your self-esteem...
i don't even think it's just make-up. it's some idea that, Lord knows where it came from, that tells people what ideal beauty is.. i think it started with marketing, ya know? seeing exotic looking women all of a sudden in media and men going ga ga over them and other women wanted to look them them; marketing companies realized this so they put these women in commercials to sell make-up, clothes, and crazy enough, even cigarettes... they tried to make it seem like that 'if you get this, you'll be a step closer to amounting to the beauty of this woman"
