Forgetful (Poem)

Forgetful

I don’t wanna think that far ahead
I just wanna go home and lie in my bed.
I don’t wanna think about the pain,
I just wanna hear the sound of the rain, it’s the only thing keeping me from going insane,
I wanna close my eyes and drift away,
Trying to remember the forgotten days.
The lost memories of forgotten times,
The laughs, the smiles, when it rained and when it shined.
How could I,
Ever pass these things by,
And not acknowledge how precious it all was!
The good and the bad.
The gift of time has been bestowed upon us,
And how could I, how could we,
Take advantage of something so sweet!
Life is truly long, but we make it seem short,
Only because we don’t remember more.
Learn to pay attention to, what seems to be, the little things in life,
Open your mind, learn to acknowledge it all, even the strife.
Don’t be forgetful, remember my words,
For every little thing is too precious, to not be heard.
